This workshop series is designed for welding professionals, inspectors, engineers, and industry personnel seeking to deepen their understanding of critical welding standards, codes, and specifications. Whether you are preparing for certification exams or advancing your technical knowledge, these classes provide essential instruction to help you navigate structural welding codes and inspection requirements.

The California Welding Institute provides lecture-based classes for individuals interested in taking the L.A. City Certified Welder written exam, becoming an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or AWS Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI), pursuing certification as an ICC Special Inspector or L.A. City Deputy Inspector, or fulfilling professional development hours and continuing education requirements. These courses also cover how to write Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Welding Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Test Records (WQTRs), as well as destructive testing techniques including bend tests, metallographic testing, and tensile testing.

Our instructor is an AWS SCWI and Certified Welding Engineer with over 45 years of experience in the welding industry.
