This course is designed for individuals who need to understand the process of writing Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification Records (WPQR). These documents are critical to ensuring welding procedures meet applicable codes, project requirements, and industry standards.

Whether you’re working toward a role in welding inspection, engineering, or procedure development, this course provides essential instruction on preparing, documenting, and applying welding procedures in compliance with recognized standards. Students are required to bring their own copies of AWS D1.1:2020, AWS A2.4:2020, and AWS B2.1:2014 publications to class.

  • Description: This class is designed for individuals who want to learn how to write Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification Records (WPQR).
  • Required Publications: AWS D1.1:2020, AWS A2.4:2020, AWS B2.1:2014
  • Note: Publications are not included in the course fee. Each attendee must bring the required publications to class.

The goal of this course is to provide students with a working knowledge of how to properly write and prepare Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification Records (WPQR). These essential documents ensure welding procedures meet applicable codes and quality standards within the industry.

This course is intended to enhance technical knowledge and documentation skills for individuals involved in welding procedure development. While it does not result in certification upon completion, it provides essential training for those pursuing welding qualifications, inspection roles, or engineering positions where procedure documentation is required.
